How to Personalize Your Samsung Galaxy Phone Using the Good Lock App

If you’re a proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and have yet to explore the wonders of the Samsung Good Lock app, I highly recommend installing it as soon as possible. This app is a treasure trove of enhancements, tools, and customization options that take your Android experience, specifically Samsung’s One UI version, to the next level.

Good Lock empowers you to have more control over the appearance and functionality of your phone’s user interface. Whether you’re eager to create your own lock screen clock design, streamline app switching, or fine-tune your S Pen stylus’s behavior, Good Lock has you covered.

To begin, head to the Galaxy Store on your Samsung device and locate the Good Lock app for installation.

The app operates through modular components. After installing these modules within Good Lock, some of them will appear as standard apps in your device’s app drawer, while others will remain accessible exclusively through the Good Lock interface, which can be found at the top of the screen where you initially installed the modules.

Upon launching Good Lock, you’ll notice two tabs at the bottom of the screen: “Make up” housing customization modules and “Life up” containing under-the-hood adjustments. Scroll through the available options.

While there are numerous modules, here are some of the standout ones to kickstart your Good Lock journey (I tested them on a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 with Android 13 and One UI 5.1.1):

  1. Revamp the Quick Panel with QuickStar: QuickStar enables you to tailor the Quick Panel, the assortment of settings that appear when you swipe down from the top of the screen. You can modify color themes, control the visibility of indicator icons in the status bar, and customize the clock displayed when the Quick Panel is open. Additionally, the Quick settings instant access toggle switch is a handy feature, making all Quick Panel settings immediately accessible.
  2. Personalize the Clock with ClockFace: Under the “Make up” tab, ClockFace offers a plethora of clock customizations for both the lock screen and the always-on display (if your Galaxy phone supports it). You can choose from various clock designs, or create your own from scratch, with options to adjust font sizes, clock hand styles, color schemes, layouts, and even add GIFs and stickers.
  3. Adjust S Pen Settings with Pentastic: If your Galaxy phone supports the S Pen stylus, you can fine-tune its interactions using Pentastic. This module allows you to change the appearance and functionality of the S Pen menu, offering options for size, style, and pointer icons. You can also define the actions for a double-tap of the S Pen.
  4. Apply New Themes with Theme Park: While your Galaxy phone provides basic customization options, Theme Park on the “Make up” tab takes it further. You can customize wallpapers, color schemes, icon styles, and more. Theme Park can even extract colors from your images, making it easy to create unique themes.
  5. Stay Informed with Nice Catch: In the “Life up” tab, you’ll find Nice Catch, a utility for tracking notifications and phone events. It logs various events, including vibration alerts, displayed ads, and changes to phone settings. This ensures you never miss an important notification or forget a recent alert.

Unlock the full potential of your Samsung Galaxy smartphone with the Good Lock app and its array of modules, allowing you to create a truly tailored and enhanced user experience.
