Diablo 4: How To Summon Golem

Diablo 4 has incorporated numerous MMO elements into its open-world sandbox design, and one of these features involves class-specific quests that players undertake every five levels. These quests empower characters by granting key abilities, with Necromancers often gaining additional minions as a result.

Upon successfully completing the level 25 class quest, Necromancers unlock the ability to summon a Golem. This guide provides comprehensive information on how to access and summon the Golem, including details on where to find the quest, a step-by-step walkthrough for completing it, and useful tips for commanding your newfound minion.

Unlocking the Golem Minion

To gain access to the Golem minion, players must complete the “Necromancer: Call of the Underworld” class quest, which can be found in the Priority Quests tab. However, it’s important to note that if you haven’t completed the level 20 Necromancer quest, “Call of the Underworld” may not be available for you.

Necromancer: Call of the Underworld

When Necromancers reach level 25, they have the opportunity to embark on the unique quest “Call of the Underworld.” Completing this quest grants them the ability to summon a Golem, and it is advisable to do so as soon as it becomes available.

Location

The quest is situated at the Shrine of Rathma, which can be reached by heading northwest from the Menestad Waypoint. At the shrine, players will engage with an NPC named Maltorius. For easy navigation, you can track this quest on your mini-map by following these steps:

  1. Open your Journal.
  2. Select the Priority Quests tab (the second tab).
  3. Click the “track” button next to the quest’s name.

Once the quest is tracked, a blue diamond will guide you to the next quest location, with the current objective displayed on the left-hand side of the screen.

Walkthrough

The quest involves several steps:

  1. Interact with the Shrine of Rathma.
  2. Speak with Maltorius.
  3. Collect 12 Unbroken Bones by defeating nearby enemies.
  4. After gathering these items, speak with Maltorius once more, and he will instruct you to acquire a Vile Artifact.
  5. Enter the designated cave to the southeast.
  6. Interact with the shrine inside and battle the ensuing enemies.

Summoning the Golem Minion

Upon successfully completing the quest to unlock the Golem, you’ll need to equip a skill to summon it. Follow these steps to equip and summon the Golem minion:

  1. Open the character panel and select the skills tab or open the Skills page directly.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the skill list, where you’ll find “Summon Golem.”
  3. Drag this skill onto your hotbar.
  4. Use the skill to summon the Golem.

Summoning Different Golems

Initially, you will have a bone Golem at your disposal. However, you can later unlock blood or iron Golems using the “Book of the Dead.” These Golems come with distinct attacks and abilities. Employ the “Book of the Dead” to summon various types of Golems:

  • The bone Golem
  • The blood Golem
  • The iron Golem

To have a Golem spawn, you must have a bonus selected next to the Golem type, except in the case of the sacrifice bonus, where no Golem will appear. Ensure that you keep the Golem ability on your hotbar, and if your Golem ever perishes, it will automatically respawn 20 seconds later.

Choosing the Right Golem

Different Golems cater to various utilities, and the player-selected bonuses further differentiate them. Many players employing a ranged build appreciate the bone Golem’s taunting ability, while tankier builds favor the Iron Golem’s crowd control. The Blood Golem can synergize well with a drain tank build, although it’s not the most commonly chosen option.
